Amanda has been attending Bayou Blue Assembly since birth and has been on staff since January 2018. Her parents are Pastors Packy and Janet Thompson. In 2014 Amanda gave her heart completely to God. She has known for many years that she was called to full time ministry and is pursuing the call of God through attending the School of Urban Missions to get her bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies. Amanda is also pursuing her credentials with the Assemblies of God.
Amanda’s desire is to reach the nations for Jesus. No matter where she finds herself, her goal remains the same and she desires that her students have the same mindset. In the Jr. High ministry, missions is a large focal point. They raise money through Speed the Light to help equip missionaries around the world and have taken mission’s trip to Peru and Kenya to share the love of Jesus.
Amanda wants to see the Jr. High students passionately serving God. She desires to have personal relationships with each of them through mentorship, hangouts, and events that bring the students together. Her ultimate goal is to support them, not only while in USM, but to be their biggest supporter throughout their entire lives. Amanda desires to watch them grow in the call of God and help them to get back up when they fall.
Amanda is thankful for the opportunity to serve as the Jr. High Pastor at Bayou Blue. She loves the students passionately and is excited to see what God will do in the Unstoppable Student Ministry. Amanda welcomes you to be a part of what God is doing in this ministry.
